NI FlexRIO

The NI FlexRIO product family provides flexible, customizable I/O for NI LabVIEW FPGA. The two parts that make up the NI FlexRIO product family are NI FlexRIO FPGA Modules for PXI and NI FlexRIO Adapter Modules. Together, they form a high-performance, reconfigurable instrument enabled by LabVIEW FPGA software. Use the NI FlexRIO Module Development Kit (MDK) to build custom I/O for your application.

NI FlexRIO Product Family

NI FlexRIO FPGA Modules

NI FlexRIO FPGA Modules for PXI have a Virtex-5 FPGA and up to 128 MB of onboard DRAM. The connector gives direct access to the raw digital I/O pins of the field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Each pin is capable of LVDS rates up to 1 Gbit/sec, and single-ended rates up to 400 Mbit/sec.

NI FlexRIO Adapter Modules

NI FlexRIO Adapter Modules can be designed with true, instrument-class I/O, and are completely interchangeable. This can be used to create high-speed digitizers, high-speed digital I/O, arbitrary waveform generators, and RF instruments that are LabVIEW FPGA enabled.

NI FlexRIO Adapter MDK

You can build the exact adapter module to meet your application requirements. This requires experience in custom printed circuit board (PCB) design and hardware description language (HDL) code development. The NI FlexRIO Adapter MDK includes .DXF files, connector drawings, example code, and design documentation.
